Poker HD App Reviews

Was excited to see this game which at first blush has great graphics and is of the Texas Hold em variety of poker. Unfortunately, it suffers from some annoying gameplay flaws. First, the way you bet is awkward. The game utilizes a slide bar to raise bets but its very difficult to choose an exact figure. Instead, you pick the range and then you need to click a button that only raises or lowers by one at a time. I have seen Flash games with really good chip selection that simply lets you click on the 5 or 10 chip to raise by that denomination and the developer should consider such a system. Second, The game "thinking" is slow......... very slow. On deals and especially at showdowns the game goes into "thinking" mode and it just sits. Also, the game tools like the betting slider and the buttons all disappear when it thinks which is disorienting. And finally, speaking of showdowns. This is the most annoying and awkward part of the game. After a winner is determined the game simply slides the pot to the appropriate side of the table and immediately starts to deal a new hand. There is no notation comparing hands such as "Player 2 has Ace high" and "Player 1 has three of a kind with three 8s and wins 120." Thankfully the "thinking" is slow enough that you can determine which hand wins by studying the hand yourself but this seems like the kind of thing that should be standard. Bottom line - this game is passable for free but need improvement to be worth the cost of the "Pro" version.

I cant seem to change the bet aside from the basic $2, other than to push all in. Game play is OK, nothing to write home about though.

For being "HD", this game is really low quality. The graphics, although not really necessary for a card game, are horrendous and you can only play against one computer. For anybody who has any experience in playing poker, you know that computers dont give a very accurate representation of the human qualities of poker. Youll be better off playing against real people online.

It only allows head to head. And the game play is kinda slow. Also, its hard to specify the amount you want to bet. The slider isnt precise. It was free and was worth the 5 minutes I tried it out. Ill erase it now and never miss it.

Really a slow and boring app. Would like to see something similar as the Texas Holdem app by Apple. Not entirely bad, but not good enough for a desktop game.

The game is a basic poker game. No amazing graphics or anything, but if you just love to play poker for free this is the game. I dont know why some of the reviews are so bad. ITS FREE! What more could you want. you get to control the pot, and the blinds.

This game is only 1 on 1. This makes betting incredibly boring. I would much rather play a Texas Hold Em game that had several opponents.

ONLY 2 PLAYERS?? YOU NEED AT LEASET 5 PLAYERS FOR TEXAS HOLD EM. WHO EVER CREATED THIS APP SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES, EVEN MORE SO FOR APPLE TO RELEASE IT.

Found several instances where i should have won and visa versa. Unsure about buying pro version when free version not accurate.

Simply put, this app has a "Easy" and "Hard" setting, but actually the Easy setting is harder. The Hard setting tries to bluff too much and its obvious and easy to beat, but still fun to pass the time with.

I assume that all the problems that all the other raters complained about have been fixed, because, for a free app, this is great. I wish that it had "info", like a list of the poker hands in order, and possibly a brief explaination how the winners hand beat the losers (like, ACE high wins, etc.). I wish that it had a scoreboard. and I wish that there were more than 2 levels. But, for a FREE app, I really like it and Ill be playing it a lot.

Allows only two players you and the Cpu,if only the graphics looked like the icon.

This is a single play 1 vs 1 game it seems. It is boring. not worth the space even though its free.

It has a nice clean look, but its dull. I played a few hands, then moved it to the trash.

There are better options but this game is free. I find it a bit boring and would only play when I have nothing else to do. There are many online multiplayer poker games that are much more exciting. One good thing I can say about it is that if you dont know much about poker, playing this will enable you to learn it quickly.

worse than playing with a deck a cards by yourself

well I know its not the best poker game but, t is totally both buying for 2 reasons: 1. FREE! 2. play poker

Im glad this app was free. It the most boring game that I have ever played. Make a small bet after the flop and the computer folds 99% ofthe time. It neds to have more players instead of just one on one.

I thought a full house beat 2 pair, and quad aces beats a strait. Deleted!

This is a great begginer game but for higher levels it’s useless.
